Its population centered in four districts. Monaco-Ville is located on a promontory dominating the whole coast. In Monaco-Ville You can find a beautiful Romanesque cathedral and see the palace of the Grimaldi family. The area around the port is called La Condamine. Monte-Carlo is the main center for business and entertainment and it is popular for its casinos, pleasant climate and high living standards, which not much comparable to those in metropolitan areas of prosperous French.
The old town is on Monaco’s western flank, offering excellent views of the harbor and its usual armada of luxury yachts below. The main tourist attractions are the Prince’s Palace, the Serene and Saint-Martin Gardens, once inspiring the poet Guillaume Apollinaire.
There are various museums of interest in the Old Town, including the Oceanographic Museum, Aquarium, Museum of Napoleonic Souvenirs and Collection of the Palace’s Historic Archives together providing the colorful history of Monaco. Also worth visiting is, the Wax Museum of the Princes of Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Story and the Azur Express Tourist Train.
The most famous casino in Monaco is the Grand Casino in Monte-Carlo. It is located in the most famous quarter; ‘the Golden Square’. In this quarter are almost all the most luxurious hotels, restaurants and boutiques.
